About Erica

Erica Grow is the Broadcaster Manager for the AccuWeather Network. She brings more than ten years of Top 10 market experience to this role, including four years as an on-camera meteorologist for WNBC, the flagship of the NBC-owned station group in New York City. She also previously served as an on-camera meteorologist for WPVI, the ABC-owned station in Philadelphia; and WUSA, Washington DC’s CBS station. Before joining AccuWeather, Erica was a freelance on-camera meteorologist for PIX11 News in New York City, and she completed a fellowship with the American Meteorological Society’s Policy Office in 2021.

Erica also currently represents the private sector on the AMS Council, a position to which she was elected in 2018. She wrote the AMS Statement on Incorporating Science into On-Air Weathercasts, and she oversaw the development of the Statement on Media Expectations During Severe Weather. She has served as a panelist, moderator, or presenter at more than a dozen AMS conferences and symposia. In 2019, Erica was a delegate to the World Meteorological Organization’s World Congress (Cg-18), and her work with the WMO continues today.

Erica received the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation from the American Meteorological Society in 2012. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology from Penn State University, and she was named a 125th Anniversary Fellow of her Alma Mater’s College of Earth and Mineral Sciences in 2021.
